I was Jinxed!

Ok, so this past weekend when my family was here, my sister mentions to me that she just waits for the day when Mackenzie cuts her or Kate's hair..... so what do you know.....2 days later Mackenzie comes to me and says "look mom, I cut my hair!" I gasped, here it is, every mom's nightmare......thankfully it wasn't that bad. Just a little chunk off the top! I asked her why she did it and she said she wants her hair short. Well of course, she sees me cut hair so why not! I can't be too mad, right......who am I to think that I will be exempt from the tradition that every little girl cuts her own hair at some point in her early years?

See, this was the majority of it, nothing that can't be covered up by parting the other way. I would have taken a picture of her, but you really wouldn't be able to tell....well maybe the few hairs poking through when combed back in a ponytail!

Disclaimer: the scissors were her own little kids safety scissors, I do not let my children run around and play with my shears.....and she did get them taken away. She loves to color pictures and cut them out. She has been using them for a long time and for some reason this must have been the first time the thought ran through her mind. Maybe if I would have had her hair out of her face she wouldn't have thought about it.......would of, could of, should of!

Lemonade Anyone?

This past weekend we had a garage sale and Mackenzie really wanted to sell something. She kept picking out her toys and putting stickers on them, so I came up with and alternative idea for her......Her very first lemonade stand! I explained the the whole deal and she got pretty excited.....I told her a day too soon, so we made the sign and had the lemonade all ready in the fridge for the big day!

Here is her homeade sign......I helped a little, but she did the coloring! (thinking about entering it into the coloring contest)

We had the big pitcher full...then I would pour it into her little pitcher and it was just the right amount to fill a cup! She would give people the look, ask in a cute voice and they couldn't resist.........I'm needing a new computer.....I'm thinking we should just set her out on the corner everyday!

Uncle Brock purchasing a delicious cup of lemonade! She made out pretty good for her first time... $12 in sales....with the help of the tips she got. Most people told her to keep the change.......good thing because I don't think her 3 yr old money changing skills are up to their standards!

"Oh, I could just eat you"!

This is me trying to express in words how much I love my girls! They both have these cheeks that are just so inviting to take a nibble on. Kate is almost 7 months, I can hardly believe it!

She is eating so well (as you can tell with those cheeks), although I need to get a video of her trying to eat her green veggies. It is quite hilarious....the shivers, gags and face...I can't help but just laugh! I am so horrible sitting there laughing while she is about ready to spew!

She is getting more brave trying to get things beyond her reach, but Mackenzie is always right there to help.

This is one of her favorite spots in the mornings. Almost every morning Mackenzie begs me to let her read Kate books. She isn't really into it until she fills up that tummy!

She is sitting up so well, is really fun to listen to her talk and she loves to be with her big sister. Mackenzie can get her to laugh by just looking at her! I can't wait until they get to the point where they can "play" together!

Move over Shawn Johnson....

.....Here comes Mackenzie Musselman! This year we decided that we should get Mackenzie involved in something that she could focus all her energy on...she has a lot! Gymnastics just seemed like one of those things that all little girls try. This was before the Olympics, so we let her stay up several nights watching Shawn Johnson and Nastia Lukin to see what it was all about.

We got her the little outfit and she was ready to go! She wishes it was every night instead of one night a week.

Here she is with one of her best friends who is doing it with her. (Again an action shot, sorry for the blurriness) They are so much fun to watch! The first night she got up on the balance beam and walked right across.

They have them do an obstacle course, balance beam, swing on the bars, jump down a long tramp, and best of all jump into a big pit of foam blocks!

Our Summer - Part 3 The Blank Park Zoo

Well since we didn't make it to Omaha for vacation we settled for the Blank Park Zoo. Mackenzie had never been to a zoo so she enjoyed it just the same!

She is becoming a pro at feeding animals.....do I see a possible career here?

Everyone asked if they had purple tongues.....I guess you learn something every day!

One of Mackenzie's best friends Julia and her family came along. Mackenzie's favorite part of the zoo.....the train!

Our Summer -Part 2

Kate started eating "real" food....she wasn't so fond of the cereal at first!

Tara one of my best friends from college came to visit for the weekend. It was so nice to just relax and catch up! Aaron was such a good sport and took care of "all" the girls!

Now that we have a fenced in back yard we thought the girls needed something to do when I shoo them outside! Aaron's project for the summer and I can now say it is 95% done and the girls are enjoying it! Of course it is much more fun with a friend......my plan of shooing Mackenzie outside isn't panning out like I thought.

This is "Blue" Mackenzie's first gold fish! She has been wanting a "pet fish" for a long time and she had finally earned it (Don't tell the Ezzo's I'm bribing my children) Blue is no longer part of the family......I guess that you are only supposed to feed a fish every other day...not twice a day!

Our Summer - Part 1

Since I just started this blog and summer is now over we'll give you an overview of it! This is my first official post all by myself.....the first one I had help........thanks Jess for the lesson!

We started out by getting a pool to just have in our now fenced in back yard. I didn't figure it would be safe for me to be taking both girls to the pool by myself, so Mackenzie still got to enjoy the water.....Here with some friends!

Mid summer while Aaron and Mackenzie were out picking black raspberries she fell on the the trail and got a buckle fracture on her wrist. Thankfully she didn't have to have a cast, at least she could take the brace off for baths....and the pool(sssh!) After we finally got the correct brace for her arm(the doctor gave her a right arm brace for her left arm) she did very good about wearing it and keeping it on! She only had to wear it for 3 weeks!

We got to spend the 4th at Grandpa and Grandma Musselman's and ride the horses!

Aunt Amy came to visit us for a couple of days and we took advantage of having 2 adults.... so we headed to the pool!

The circus came to town so why not partake! With front row seats, the stench, high temps under the tent, and lots of sugar.....what is not to love!

They had a petting zoo before you went in......I couldn't believe that Mackenzie would actually let the goats eat right out of her hand! She even got to see a real live"hippomopotamus!"
